Light Cocktails While You Nurse The Post Holiday Hangovers - Posted: January 7th, 2009

With the holidays over and life settling back to normal, you wouldn’t wanna twist it all around again with some hard cocktails, would you? During this time of the year, I like to sit back and chill, letting the buzz and merrymaking of the just-concluded holidays pass away.
I do it with a cocktail, of course. Light and subtle are my operative words during times like these and my drinks consist of similarly-described concoctions. My favorite spirits during this period? Citrus Vodka and Green Tea Liqueur, two drinks that can mix with a wide range of flavors to help coax you into a gentle mood.
Here are a couple of my favorite mixes for those two alcohol ingredients.
Zen Cooler
This one, I make for the wife who likes to hang her feet up the porch during lazy evenings. Take one ounce of Zen Green Tea Liqueur and pour into a high glass. Top it up with Fresca, add some ice and stir for a bit. Refreshing and relaxing, this drink embodies what the post-holidays should be about.
Citrus Crantini
If you’re feeling a little sophisticated, this cranberry martini should catch your fancy. Take two ounces of Citrus Vodka, half an ounce of Triple Sec and about five ounces of cranberry juice. Mix them all in a shaker with ice and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Delicious.
Citrus Collins
You will need one ounce of fresh lemon juice, lemon lime soda, one cherry and one orange slice, along with two ounces of our Citrus Vodka. Just mix the juice and vodka in a high-ball glass, top up with the soda and garnish with the cherry and orange slice. Fruity yet subtle, it might kick out your cold too.
